Evertons Start To the Season

Everton

Once again there has been a slow start to the season. Drawing with Manchester United gave us hope of good things to come, but until we played Birmingham City a few weeks ago and got our first win, nothing seemed to go right.

An early exit from the Carling Cup was a disappointment but not a surprise, but under the circumstances continuing in the competition may have proved an unwanted distraction.

The Derby was all that we could have hoped for, and this weekends draw away to Spurs is seen as a good result. We can just gloss over the poor results - defeats at Blackburn and against Newcastle can be taken in the context of a bad day out, but they will cost us places in the table.

As usual as the season goes on we have got batter and history shows us that we will have the points to be safe by Christmas and push on further by March. Hopefully we will finish high enough to either get into Europe or at least earn a decent payout for out league position.

Here's to a successful season - Come On You Blues!!
